Bundesliga: Tests: S04 wins - Raman does not score empty goal

FC Schalke 04 has given its new coach David Wagner a laborious victory at his debut. Ante Covic made her sideline debut with Hertha BSC and also won.

The Königsblauen won their first test game in the preparation at the regional league team Rot-Weiß Oberhausen with 3:1 (1:0) after an unconvincing performance.

Rabbi Matondo (15th) and Ahmed Kutucu (46th and 88th) scored the goals for the Gelsenkirchen team. Christian März shortened in the meantime for the fourth league team (77.).

Newcomer Benito Raman missed a goal at his debut after his transfer from league competitor Fortuna Düsseldorf for around twelve million euros, including the Belgian missing the empty goal shortly before the break.

Schalke was missing the U21 vice-European champions Alexander Nübel and Suat Serdar as well as Ozan Kabak (foot injury), who was signed by VfB Stuttgart.

Hertha BSC also passed the first test under his new coach Ante Covic. In a game lasting three times 35 minutes, the Berliners beat Eintracht Braunschweig 4:1 in their training camp in Neuruppin.

Coach son Maurice Covic, Sidney Friede, Ondrej Duda and Alexander Esswein scored the goals for Hertha. Robin Becker scored in front of 2742 spectators for Eintracht.

Werder Bremen, on the other hand, missed the overall victory at a lightning tournament with second league promoted Karlsruher SC and the Austrian first league newcomer WSG Tirol.

First the Hanseaten won against Tirol 1:0 (0:0) thanks to a goal from Yuya Osako, against the KSC a strengthened U23 of the Bremen team conceded a 0:3 (0:3) defeat.

The game was played in Zell am Ziller/Austria for 2×25 minutes each. Karlsruhe won against Tirol 2:0 (1:0) and thus celebrated the tournament victory.
