Here you can find all news and rumours about the BVB.

Borussia Dortmund is allegedly favorite on the commitment of Juventus attacker Mario Mandzukic. This was reported by the Italian daily Tutosport.

The 33-year-old will apparently leave Juventus because Maurizio Sarri’s system does not suit him and Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to become a centre forward in the future.

According to the AS, Mandzukic could also return to Atletico Madrid, where he already played in the 2014/15 season.

Mandzukic has played for Juve since 2015 and only extended until April 2021, when he wore the FC Bayern Munich jersey between 2012 and 2014.

Wayne Rooney has spoken out in favour of Jadon Sancho staying with BVB. “Dortmund is a great club with great fans. They rely on young players,” the 33-year-old told the Bild am Sonntag.

Rooney continues: “You can also see that with Sancho, you can see the progress he has made in the last twelve months. Now he has to ask himself whether he would also get the playing time he gets in Dortmund if he moved to England. Or would he just sit there on the bench?”

Play time is important for a young player like Sancho. “If he gets the most playing time in Dortmund, he should stay there,” stressed the former Manchester United attacker. He has “a lot of fun” watching Sancho.

BVB consultant Matthias Sammer does not agree with the hymns of praise for the transfer strategy of the black-and-yellow. “I’m with Uli Hoeneß, who said: Everything the BVB has done must first prove itself. Anyone who says that knows how football works,” Sammer told SID: “It’s the truth!”

The Dortmund team has signed 2014 world champion Mats Hummels (FC Bayern), national players Julian Brandt (Bayer Leverkusen) and Nico Schulz (TSG Hoffenheim) as well as the coveted Thorgan Hazard (Borussia Mönchengladbach) for the coming season. Sammer thinks a lot of Hummels in particular: “He has proven over the years that he is a great player. He’s the best German central defender.”

A change from BVB defender Jeremy Toljan to the Italian first division team Sassuolo Calcio is becoming more and more concrete. After transfer expert Gianluca di Marzio had already reported the interest of the Serie A representative on Saturday, the kicker followed suit on Sunday and gave details.

Accordingly, Sassuolo wanted to borrow Toljan for one year with a purchase option. The 24-year-old’s contract with BVB runs until 2022, when he was loaned to Celtic Glasgow last season.
