Rabbi Matondo (15th) and Ahmed Kutucu (46th and 88th) scored the goals for the Gelsenkirchen team. Christian März shortened in the meantime for the fourth league team (77.).

Werder Bremen, on the other hand, missed the overall victory at a lightning tournament with second league promoted Karlsruher SC and the Austrian first league newcomer WSG Tirol.
First the Hanseaten won against Tirol 1:0 (0:0) thanks to a goal from Yuya Osako, against the KSC a strengthened U23 of the Bremen team conceded a 0:3 (0:3) defeat.
The game was played in Zell am Ziller/Austria for 2×25 minutes each. Karlsruhe won against Tirol 2:0 (1:0) and thus celebrated the tournament victory.
