Coppa Italia: Lazio in finals - fans cause Nazi scandal

Lazio Rome is in the finals of the Coppa Italia. The capital city club beat AC Milan 1-0 (0-0) on Wednesday evening, with the first leg running out 0-0. The decisive goal was scored by Joaquin Correa (58).

This gives Lazio the opportunity to win the cup for the seventh time in the history of the club on 15 May in their own stadium in Rome. The last victory of the Romans was in 2013.

Last season the Milanese and Lazio met in the semi-finals, when both games ended goalless and the Milanese had a lucky ending on penalties.

Before the game about 60 Lazio fans had caused a scandal. The trailers were moving through Milan’s city centre with a provocative banner that said “Honour for Mussolini”.

The mob loudly shouted fascist slogans and reminded of the dictator Mussolini, who died on April 28, 1945 and was Prime Minister of the then Kingdom of Italy from 1922 to 1943. Some chaotic people also showed the Nazi salute.

AC Florenz and Atalanta Bergamo will meet in the second semi-final on Thursday, the first leg in Florence ended 3-3.
