Does PSG boss also take over the Roma?

Series A: Does PSG boss also take over the Roma?

Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) allegedly also plans to take over the traditional Italian club AS Rome.

As the French L’Equipe and the Italian Corriere dello Sport report, QSI is currently examining whether such a deal could be realized around the chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi. The Qatari investment group already acquired the majority of the shares in Paris Saint-Germain in 2011.

Apparently the Roma refused an initial offer of 400 million euros. Club President James Pallotta, however, denied this.

One problem: UEFA’s statutes do not allow the ownership of two teams competing in the same competition. In the case of PSG and the Roma, that would be the Champions League. However, the QSI could probably circumvent this problem by setting up a subcontractor.
