Augustin transfer trouble: RB insists on replacing Leeds

Bundesliga footballer RB Leipzig sees Leeds United as the prime league promoter in the dispute over the transfer of attacker Jean-Kevin Augustin. “Leeds has risen, so the purchase obligation is effective,” said RB sports director Markus Krösche to the kicker.

The 23-year-old Frenchman had moved from RB to the island on loan in the winter. According to kicker, Leeds guaranteed to commit the attacker for 21 million euros in the event of promotion. Leeds now argues that the clause expired on 1 July. The rise was only made perfect by the corona crisis after the originally agreed end of the contract.

“When the contractual arrangements were negotiated in January, all parties were in full possession of their spiritual powers,” Krösche said: “I assume that things will now take their course accordingly.” Augustin did not convince in England and only made three short appearances.
