RB probably agrees with Krösche – is Rangnick going?

RB Leipzig has apparently secured the services of the highly courted Markus Krösche of SC Paderborn. He should strengthen the sporting leadership. A decision by the former sports director and coach Ralf Rangnick will be made today, Tuesday.

As the kicker reports, Paderborn and Leipzig could agree on a replacement for Krösche after long negotiations. The functionary should therefore cost a six-digit sum. Krösche himself has been in agreement with the Red Bulls for quite some time on a contract until 2022 as Sports Director.

In Leipzig he will succeed Jochen Schneider, who has migrated to FC Schalke 04, and will work closely with new coach Julian Nagelsmann in the future. However, which tasks exactly fall to him will depend strongly on the future of Rangnick.

The 60-year-old has since relinquished his leadership of the team, and according to the picture he will also relinquish the post of sports director. Rangnick will probably take over a cross-club responsibility at the RB clubs and thus also look after the locations in Salzburg, New York and Sao Paulo.

His contract as sports director until 2021 would be invalid, Oliver Mintzlaff and Krösche would lead the club without Rangnick. According to the daily, a final decision will be made today, Tuesday.
