FC Schalke 04 apparently has to fear RB Leipzig as a possible buyer of goalkeeper talent Alexander Nübel. This is reported by SportBild. The Red Bulls are said to have joined the Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Bayern and Tottenham Hotspur poker rounds.
However, RB brings a special trump card with it. Sports director Markus Krösche, who for a long time was also a candidate at FC Schalke 04, knows Nübel from his time together at SC Paderborn. Meanwhile, Schalke wants to extend the contract with the 22-year-old, which expires in 2020, as soon as possible.
On Schalke, Nübel has earned 600,000 euros a year so far and is still paid like the substitute goalkeeper he was when the contract was negotiated in September 2017. In the meantime, however, Nübel has become a regular goalkeeper. At the moment he is the goalkeeper of the German U21 at the European Championships in Italy.
FC Schalke 04 and Breel Embolo could go their separate ways starting today, Wednesday. This is reported by the WAZ. According to the report, the Swiss had interrupted his holiday in order to undergo a medical examination in Mönchengladbach. On Sunday he could participate in the training start of the foals.
Embolo has been traded repeatedly by Gladbach over the past few days. He’s supposed to be one of new coach Marco Rose’s dream players. The 22-year-old is still bound in Gelsenkirchen until 2021, after he was engaged in the summer of 2016 for 27 million euros, record replacement for the S04.
After injuries repeatedly threw the striker back, he could not assert himself in the past season. However, with six goals in 28 games, he was the most effective striker in the Königsblau squad. It is not yet known which redemption is to be expected for his transfer.
FC Schalke 04 and Fortuna Düsseldorf have apparently reached agreement on a transfer of Benito Raman after long negotiations. “Schalke has met all demands. All of Fortuna’s conditions were met 1:1,” quotes Raman’s image consultant Mohamed Al Faiech.
The fact that the transfer has not been completed is therefore attributable to Fortuna’s supervisory board, the daily reports. Raman himself becomes impatient: “My decision has been made. I want to do my medical check on Schalke Friday. I can sign for 5 years to secure my family’s future.”
The 24-year-old’s final payment will amount to the required twelve million euros. In return, the contract would be prematurely terminated in Düsseldorf until 2022.
