The Lower Austrian Christoph Baumgartner has extended his contract with the German Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim prematurely by two years until 30 June 2023.
The ninth of last season’s championship announced this on Thursday, Baumgartner’s 20th birthday, and wrote of a “forward-looking personnel decision”.
“Baumi is an extremely talented player with a strong technique and a good sense of space in offensive play. In this way, he repeatedly develops solutions in tight game situations and, in addition, becomes a goal-getter”, was Hoffenheim’s professional football director Alexander Rosen quoted.
“He’s a player with great potential, but he’ll need time and he’ll get it.”
Two years ago, ÖFB-U21 team player Baumgartner moved from the youth academy of SKN St. Pölten to the junior section of TSG. In the German Bundesliga, the midfielder has been used twice so far.
