Bundesliga: Eintracht transfers 2019/2020: Jovic and Co. - these transfers have already been determined at Eintracht Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt’s squad has changed considerably over the past few days after the strong season. SOCCERSCORE provides an overview of all fixed transfers in Hessen.

In the 2018/19 season Eintracht Frankfurt landed in seventh place and missed the Champions League qualification. On the international stage, too, the eagles were narrowly defeated by the premier league, with FC Chelsea losing on penalties in the semi-finals of the Europa League.

After this insane season almost all European top clubs are chasing the stars of Eintracht, especially offensively the Hessen have to fear for the cohesion of their squad. However, one could already bind a high performer on a long-term basis.

Last summer Eintracht signed Serbian Filip Kostic on loan for two years from Hamburger SV. However, the deal also included a purchase option of six million euros, which the Hessians already withdrew after one year.

Thus Kostic automatically receives a contract with Eintracht until 2023. In the past season he was one of the most important performers in the Frankfurt offensive and stood all 34 Bundesliga matches, as well as twelve of 14 matches in the Europa League on the field.

In the Bundesliga he was with eleven assist the best overall referee of the Frankfurt and scored six more goals. The 26-year-old scored four goals in the Europa League, including the quarter-final return leg against Benfica Lisbon.

The departure of the top striker of Eintracht was foreseeable. Borrowed from Benfica Lisbon, the Serb scored 27 goals for the Frankfurters in the past season in 48 competitive games and was one of the main reasons for the international success of Eintracht.

In the summer, the Frankfurters naturally withdrew the purchase option of five million euros, but just a few days later both parties announced the direct resale of the 21-year-old to Real Madrid.

The transfer fee is expected to be around 70 million euros; both clubs have agreed not to disclose the exact number.

Of course, the Frankfurt team will try to keep top performers like Sebastian Rode and Martin Hinteregger in Hesse for the coming season as well. The income from the Jovic transfer gives Frankfurt financial leeway.
