Federal football league player Bayer Leverkusen has suffered a setback despite a fighting performance in the Europa League.
The Werkself, who lost almost 70 minutes to Karim Bellarabi (22nd) after an early red card, lost 0-1 (0-0) to Czech champion Slavia Prague. Joker Peter Olayinka (80th) shocked Bayer with a placed header in the final phase.
“Of course, we made life difficult with the Red Card. We haven’t allowed too many chances. But the goal was unnecessary. Too bad it didn’t go out 0:0 or 1:1,” said Bayer-Keeper Lukas Hrádecky, who parried a specially created foul meter in the 65th minute, at “Nitro”.
One week after the 6-2 victory against OGC Nice, Bayer coach Peter Bosz was unavailable to a number of players in former captain Lars Bender (neck problems), forward Patrik Schick (muscle fiber rupture), Santiago Arias (fibula fracture), Paulinho (rehab after cruciate ligament rupture), captain Charles Aránguiz (Achilles tendon problems) and, in the short term, Exequiel Palacios.
“Palacios is sick, but don’t worry, he doesn’t have a corona – he was tested yesterday and today,” the Dutch coach said on Wednesday.
