Bavaria apparently considering Sane-Transfer

FC Bayern Munich is apparently considering the commitment of Leroy Sane of Manchester City. Ex-trainer Pep Guardiola seems to play an important role.

As the kicker reports, the management of FC Bayern is discussing whether and how a transfer of the 23-year-old would be feasible. Guardiola therefore wants to give up the wingman and could therefore significantly reduce the necessary transfer fee.

First rumours about a change arose in April, when Tuttosport reported that Bavaria and Juventus were interested. English media had recently reported that it was Sane who was striving for a change.

Guardiola contradicted the report of the kicker already on Friday: “We have been trying for a year and a half to extend the contract of Leroy Sane. If you want to extend the contract, that means you want to keep it.” How the citizens proceed, however, should Sane refuse the extension, is questionable.

Sane is still under contract in Manchester until 2021 and with 47 appearances was an important factor in the national triple win of the Citizens. But Sane was more joker than regular in the final sprint of the Premier League. Since the beginning of February he was not replaced five times, only once he played over the full 90 minutes.

“That’s because he’s competing with Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva. It’s not easy,” Guardiola explained. But he warned: “When we play in four competitions, we need Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva. We can’t just play for the quadruple with two wing players.”

The outgoing Arjen Robben had recently recommended to FC Bayern Munich a commitment from Sanes. Meanwhile, Sport Bild reports a redemption of over 100 million euros. FCB President Uli Hoeneß had ruled out such a sum at the weekend.
