The year 2020 has so far been positive for both AC Milan and Ante Rebic. Now the striker spoke of his first six months in Milan, his new team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his love of Eintracht Frankfurt.
In an interview with the “Sportske Jutarni” portal, the Croatian admitted that the young AC team, like himself, took a while to get up to speed: “The situation is of course not what we imagined. But the longer the season goes on, the better things are going. Also in training, so I’m very optimistic.”
The fact that three very experienced players – Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Asmir Begovic and Simon Kjaer – were brought on board during the winter helped, however: “Players with their experience and quality help us a lot at this stage. The results are also clearly visible: We’ve played very well in the last four matches and reached the quarter-finals in the cup.”
Swedish superstar Ibrahimovic was described by Rebic as “one of the best forwards in the history of football.” He said the entire team felt stronger with him because the 38-year-old “brings a winning mentality to the dressing room.”
He said he has a very good relationship with “Ibra”: “We talk a lot, he’s a very nice guy who helps young players with advice. It’s an honor to play with him. But he too can make progress in playing with the boys.”
