The Argentine center forward Gonzalo Higuain is heavily courted by the AS Rome. At a press conference, the new sports director Gianluca Petrachi spoke in the strongest terms of the Juventus attacker.
“I think there is nothing better than Rome to find the real Higuaín again,” Petrachi explained, comparing the 31-year-old with a club icon. “He could follow in the footsteps of Batistuta.”
Although Higuain is still under contract with Juventus until 2021, an exit is very likely. According to information from Goal and SOCCERSCORE, the Bianconeri officials have recently informed the storm tank that it can look for a new club.
In 2016, the Argentinian moved from SSC Naples to Turin for 90 million euros. However, since Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival in the summer of 2018, he no longer plays a major role for the Italian series champion. Most recently he was loaned to AC Milan and FC Chelsea.
