President Aurelio De Laurentiis of the Italian vice-champion SSC Naples has rejected a transfer of Inter striker Mauro Icardi. On the other hand, he remains open to the commitments of ex-Bayer James Rodriguez and Hirving Lozano of PSV Eindhoven.
In an interview with Sportmediaset, De Laurentiis raised the alleged interest in Icardi: “We won’t buy him. ”
The club boss reacted much more cautiously when it came to the possible transfers from James and Lozano. “We’ll see,” says the 70-year-old film producer.
Game designer James and winger Lozano should be at the top of Napoli’s wish list right now. According to information from Gazzetta dello Sport, the SSC would have to pay around 80 million euros for the two offensive players.
After the Bavarians didn’t take the purchase option for James, he now stands after the two-year loan before a return to Real Madrid. It remains to be seen whether the Colombian international will really play a role in coach Zinedine Zidane’s plans or whether he will be transferred directly.
Hirving Lozano is often associated with top European clubs. The Mexican moved from Pachuca to PSV Eindhoven in 2017, where he scored 21 goals and 12 assists in 40 competitive games last season.
