Former Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti has missed out on an early entry into the Champions League with the SSC Naples. The two-time Italian football champion lost to Atalanta Bergamo 1:2 (1:0) at the end of the 33rd matchday in the Serie A series.
With an eleven-point lead over AC Milan to fifth place in five games to go, Naples should only be a formality to qualify for the top flight again.
Bergamo advanced to fourth place due to his success, which also entitles him to participate in the Champions League.
The hosts, who were replaced by Confed Cup winner Amin Younes in the 77th minute, took the lead by Dries Mertens (28th). After the change Duvan Zapata (69.) and Mario Pasalic (80.) turned the meeting with their hits.
