AC Milan can look forward to their first participation in the Champions League in six years. At the end of the 35th Serie A matchday, the Rossoneri defeated FC Bologna 2-1 (1-0) to improve 59 points from seventh to fifth.
The third and fourth places in the Champions League are occupied by Inter Milan (63) and Atalanta Bergamo (62), while AS Rome (6/59) and FC Turin (7/57) still have a chance of winning a ticket for the premier class.
In the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, Suso (37th) and Fabio Borini (67th) scored for Milan’s lead, which was again strongly wobbled in the final phase. Within three minutes Mattia Destro (73rd) scored the following goal, then Milan’s Lucas Paqueta saw yellow (74th) and red (75th) because of an assault. Outnumbered, the team of coach Gennaro Gattuso saved the 16th victory of the season over time.
