According to information from Goal and SOCCERSCORE, Juventus Turin is playing with the idea of selling offensive player Paulo Dybala in summer. The Argentinian no longer plays an indispensable role in the Old Lady’s plans for the future.
Dybala was the undisputed starter and performer last season, scoring 22 goals in 33 Serie A games, but since Cristiano Ronaldo’s appointment he has been the assistant.
As a result, Dybala has scored only five goals in 27 league games in the current season – a record and a role that is far from satisfactory for a player in his class.
In the recent past, Dybala has slipped further and further in the favour of coach Massimiliano Allegri. Aaron Ramsey, a classic midfield director, will also be coming in the summer, not only to challenge Dybala for a place in the squad, but also to push up the payroll.
If Allegri continues to train the Bianconeri in the coming season – and that’s what it looks like at the moment – it could be a big economic risk not to sell Dybala if they offer it.
Juventus has not yet received such a contract for the 25-year-old, whose contract in Turin runs until 2022. But the list of people who have been associated with Dybala in the past is long: Paris Saint-Germain, FC Barcelona, FC Bayern Munich or Manchester United.
The solution preferred by all concerned would be to stay in Turin, but in view of the uncertain future of Dybala, his advisors also looked at alternatives.
