Juve comeback: Does Buffon forego money?

Published on

Italy goalkeeper icon Gianluigi Buffon (41) will have to make do with a significant reduction in salary if the 2006 World Champion returns to his regular club Juventus.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the oldie must be satisfied with 1.5 million euros per annum plus premiums. At his last employer, Paris Saint-Germain, Buffon is said to have collected four million euros for the 2018/19 season.

Buffon will be the number two of the Italian record champion behind Wojciech Szczesny. It is also being discussed that after his return to Juve, Buffon could switch to the management of the Old Ladies as a reservekeeper.

Buffon was the figurehead of the record champion for 17 years before his move from Juve to the Seine, and after his forced relegation he even went into Serie B with the club.
