Juventus trainer Massimiliano Allegri has explained that Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have a huge will to win in common. Before moving to the Old Lady in 2014, the coach was Ibrahimovic’s training director at Milan and is currently the coach of five-time world footballer Ronaldo.
Allegri told journalists about a Juve training game to support his thesis: “Ronaldo had fun, but he only has fun if he wins the game,” said the Juve coach. “Some are happy about a passport with a pickaxe or a successful trick. But Ronaldo is only happy when he wins,” he added.
“I wrote the same thing about Ibra in my book,” Allegri said. “Ibra could get terribly upset about a bad passport. I told him there would be no problems if all the players were as talented as he was,” the coach added.
Allegri saw a special responsibility for the two superstars they would have to take on: “It’s hard for the other players to reach the level. That’s why you have to be modest and not make it harder for those who are worse,” Allegri said.
