Series A: Juve change? De Ligt not in the Ajax training camp

Central defender Matthijs de Ligt will not travel to the summer training camp in Austria with Ajax Amsterdam “in anticipation of a possible transfer”. This was officially announced by the Dutch doubles winner on Saturday afternoon.

This brings the 19-year-old Dutchman’s move to Juventus Turin ever closer. According to information from SOCCERSCORE and Goal, the Italian champion has been in agreement with de Ligt for quite some time now, so the negotiations with Ajax may have come to a positive end.

Last season Juve had offered the Champions League semi-finalist of the previous season 65 million euros, Ajax only demanded a little more. According to information from the Dutch and Italian media, an agreement has now been reached on around 70 million euros.

De Ligt’s contract with Ajax is valid until 2021. In the medium term, the international should follow in the footsteps of Giorgio Chiellini as the new head of defence at the Bianconeri.
