Inter intensifies bidding for Lukaku

Published on

The top Italian club Inter Milan has stepped up its efforts to secure the Belgian national striker Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United.

After a meeting with his United colleague Matthew Judge in London, sports director Piero Ausilio spoke to media representatives of an “official inquiry”.

Manchester is to demand a redemption of the equivalent of 83 million euros for the attacker, whose contract runs until 2022. Inter, on the other hand, has in mind a loan transaction with a purchase option, which could result in a total package of 70 million euros.

Lukaku (26) is regarded as the wish-list for Inters new coach Antonio Conte. The Nerazzurri are also looking for a replacement for their former captain Mauro Icardi, who is to be sold.
