Series A: Fix! Association icon Totti leaves the Roma

AS Rome loses its club icon Francesco Totti. The 42-year-old, who joined the management of US club chief James Pallotta at the end of his player career in 2017, bid farewell to the capital club on Monday, to which he had belonged for 25 years.

“AS Rome is my second home, I never thought it would come to this separation. It was very hard to make that decision,” said the former goal scorer at a press conference at the headquarters of the CONI National Olympic Committee in Rome.

In view of the situation in the association, it was “right” to submit the resignation. Coach Claudio Ranieri and captain Daniele De Rossi had already bid farewell to the club in recent weeks.

Recently there had been differences between Totti and US club chief James Pallotta about the leadership of the club. Totti complained, inter alia, that he had not been informed of Pallotta’s main decisions. Pallotta is accused of spending more time in the USA than in Rome.
