The Spanish Supercup is to be held in Saudi Arabia for six years from January 2020. According to media reports, the RFEF is currently negotiating with the government of the Arab country.

According to the newspaper Marca, the Spanish demand 30 million euros per year.

The title had already been played outside Spain in 2018, when FC Barcelona beat FC Sevilla 2-1 in front of 40,000 spectators in Morocco’s Tangier.

In the future, four teams will participate – the two cup finalists and the two best teams in the league who were not in the final.
