Real Transfers: Pogba replacement found?

Published on

Spain’s record champions Real Madrid are making no progress in their bid for Zinedine Zidane’s dream player Paul Pogba (Manchester United). The Blancos’ leaders are working on a Plan B and are showing interest in Donny van de Beek of the Champions League semi-finalist Ajax Amsterdam, according to reports from both Marca and As.

Rumours about Real and the 22-year-old had already emerged a few weeks ago. Now the reports say that interest in it has increased again. The reason for this is the unpromising bidding for United star Pogba.

In England, the transfer window closes on 9 August and it is unlikely that the Red Devils will hand over the World Champion afterwards without being able to sign a replacement.

Van de Beek, whose contract in Amsterdam runs until 2022, is supposed to be against it. Allegedly, Ajax is willing to sell it for a transfer fee of 60 million euros this summer.

Last season, van de Beek played 57 matches for Ajax. The five-time Netherlands international contributed 17 goals and 13 assists to the successful season of the double winner.
