Real Madrid newcomer Luka Jovic has raved about his ex-club Eintracht Frankfurt and at the same time revealed that he experienced the bitterest defeat of his career in the SGE jersey.
“The only bad moment in the Eintracht jersey was the lost Europa League semi-final against Chelsea. This was probably one of the few moments in my career when I cried tears of disappointment. That wasn’t even when we lost the penalty shootout, but rather when I saw the Eintracht fans singing the club anthem with tears in their eyes,” Jovic wrote in the Players’ Tribune.
For him, this support was a completely new experience despite the failure: “This is not often the case in the football world. I am sad to have left Frankfurt because this club has changed my career.”
After winning the DFB Cup in 2018 and the impressive 2018/19 season, Jovic switched to the Blancos this summer for around 70 million euros.
“I will always love and appreciate harmony because this club is not about money or expensive players. It’s about team chemistry, about an incredible feeling of togetherness between fans and players,” the Serbian offensive player concluded.
