Real Madrid signs son of Reyes under contract

Less than a month after the death of his father Jose Antonio Reyes, Real Madrid have signed the son of the former Spanish international. That was announced the junior player on Instagram at the weekend.

Among several pictures showing him at Real Madrid, he wrote: “I am very happy and proud to start a new chapter at Real Madrid”. Jose Reyes Lopez, as the late Reyes’s Filus is called, will therefore be on the royal U13 team’s team next season.

“Thanks to everyone who supported me and trusted me, especially my family,” he stressed, adding: “I will continue to enjoy everything, work and learn with humility.

According to Marca, the transfer of Reyes was agreed before the death of his father. The 35-year-old had died earlier this month near his hometown of Seville. Florentino Perez, Real’s president, then promised to take care of Reyes’ son.

Former Arsenal player Cesc Fabregas, a former teammate of his father’s, spoke on Saturday under the contribution of Reyes junior. He commented: “Learn, listen, fight, and above all, never stop believing. Humility, as always, comes first. Good luck.”
