Real Madrid may be reluctant to transfer Eriksen

Danish international Christian Eriksen seems to be considering extending his contract with the Champions League finalist, despite his recent statements about a farewell to Tottenham Hotspur.

As the Spanish sports newspaper AS reports, the 27-year-old, who had recently been increasingly associated with a transfer to Real Madrid, now wants to hear Tottenham’s offer of a contract. The annual salary will be increased from four to six million euros.

The decisive factor for the rethinking was above all Real’s approach. The royals have kept a low profile with regard to a possible appointment of midfield strategist and have yet to report to Tottenham boss Daniel Levy. According to Spanish media reports, the Blancos would prefer to sign Paul Pogba of Manchester United.

Eriksen, whose contract for the Spurs expires in 2020, had fired the speculation about a change in his person himself. He said, “I feel like I’ve reached a point in my career where I might want to try something new.”
