Club idol Raul is looking forward to two new jobs with Spanish record holders Real Madrid. According to Marca, the 41-year-old will be advising President Florentino Perez (72) in the Madrilenean squad and will also be coaching the second team, Real Madrid Castilla, for the new season.
Raul would thus follow the career of former French world star and current Real coach Zinedine Zidane (46), who coached Castilla from 2014 to 2016 and was hired by Perez as a consultant in 2009.
In 17 years with the Royals, Raul won the championship six times, won the Champions League three times and won the World Cup twice. With 325 goals in 741 competitive games, the long-time captain is second on the club’s eternal scoring list behind superstar Cristiano Ronaldo (450).
In the Bundesliga, after his time in Madrid, he was on the run for Schalke 04 (2010 to 2012), among others.
The Real Reserve, coached by Jose Manuel Diaz (50), will play in the third-league playoffs for promotion to the second Spanish league (La Liga2). In the first round, Real will face FC Cartagena.
