Gareth Bale could sit out his contract with Real Madrid for the time being. After his failed move to China, the Welsh apparently no longer tries to leave the royals this summer.
As the AS reports, Bale has done nothing in the past few days to leave Real. The player is said to have resigned himself to staying with Real Madrid until at least winter 19/20, if not longer.
Coach Zinedine Zidane had recently made it clear not to plan with the 30-year-old. However, since Bale has not found a club in Europe that is willing to pay the 17 million euros net annual salary and the window is closed in China, there will probably be no transfer.
Real Madrid would therefore have only one option left to choose from: The club could terminate the contract with Bale, but would have to pay an enormous compensation. Meanwhile Bale should be confident that a change of coach in Madrid could wash him back into the squad.
The player had last signed off for the Audi Cup and had subsequently been spotted playing golf. “I will not interfere in his private life,” Zidane commented on the corresponding pictures in a Spanish newspaper.
