The reigning Champions League winner Real Madrid is probably interested in signing defender Kalidou Koulibaly from SSC Naples. According to Corriere dello Sport, however, an initial offer of 90 million euros was rejected.
Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has already stressed on several occasions in the past that he has rejected offers for the central defender amounting to around 100 million euros. One of them is said to have come from the English record champion Manchester United.
Koulibaly is still bound to Napoli until 2023, but has included an exit clause of 150 million euros in his contract. However, this will not become active until summer 2020.
27-year-old Koulibaly could replace Sergio Ramos in Madrid, who, according to El Chiringuito and Marca, could leave the royals in the summer. Alleged interested parties: Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and clubs from China.
The Madrilenians end the season behind city rivals Atletico in third place. FC Barcelona are champions with eleven points ahead.
