Atletico Madrid are supposed to sign Juan Mata of Manchester United. The Spaniard under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is often only a replacement and could leave Manchester for his home country in the context of Solskjaer’s upheaval, as Sport reports.
Mata’s contract expires this summer. Atletico could thus secure its services free of charge. According to Mirror, the 30-year-old 2010 World Champion is also associated with FC Barcelona, but Diego Simeone’s team are expected to be in the lead in the midfielder race.
Mata has been playing in Manchester since January 2014 and won four titles with the Red Devils. He has played for United 20 times this season, but only eight since coach Solskjaer’s arrival in December.
