Colombian international James, currently in the service of record champions Bayern Munich, is apparently about to move to Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Primera Division.
According to Marca, the former Champions League finalist is ready to pay the transfer fee of 42 million euros demanded by Real Madrid.
The 28-year-old midfielder, who had played for FC Bayern for two years on loan, had asked the German showpiece club itself not to use the purchase option agreed with the royals. Also interested in the South American was the SSC Naples, which only wants to borrow James.
James had come to the Isar from Real in 2017. In 67 compulsory games for the Bavarians he scored 15 goals and gave 20 templates. While he got along well with the former Bavarian coaches Carlo Ancelotti and Jupp Heynckes, the relationship with the current head coach Niko Kovac was not trouble-free.
