Real Madrid’s 34th championship title has supposedly promoted Belgian football star Eden Hazard to record transfer by the Royal. As reported by the Spanish sports daily AS, winning the title on Thursday will result in a bonus payment of 15 million euros due to Hazard’s ex-club FC Chelsea. Last summer, the 29-year-old attacker had moved from London to Madrid for 100 million euros.
Real’s previous record purchase was the Welsh Gareth Bale, who was picked up by Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 for 101 million euros. Overall, according to “AS”, the volume of the hazard transfer could even increase to 130 million euros through further bonus payments.
Due to numerous injuries, Hazard had only made 16 league appearances for Real this season, scoring one goal and six assists.
