The theatre between Antoine Griezmann, FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid continues. After Atleti wants to take legal action to increase the transfer fee paid by Barca for the world champion, Griezmann criticizes this action. He told his lawyer that he was “very disappointed” by the “amazing malice” of his ex-club.
Lawyer Sevan Karian told the L’Equipe: “Antoine is obviously very disappointed by the attitude of Atlético Madrid and its club leadership, which is showing quite astonishing malevolence in this matter and publicly communicating the opposite of what they have said to him privately.
Last week Griezmann moved from Madrid to Barcelona for 120 million euros. Atleti insists on a payment of 200 million euros, because there had already been an agreement between the striker and Barca, whose exit clause was the same amount. President Enrique Cerezo claims to be able to produce evidence to substantiate this.
Sevan Karian sees this aspiration as relaxed: “Let them make their preparations, we will do the same if necessary. But right now only one thing counts: “It’s a new chapter in his career he’s starting (…).”
