A decision seems to have been made in the race for Antoine Griezmann. According to the French newspaper L’Equipe, FC Barcelona has secured the services of the 28-year-old and will pay Atletico Madrid a transfer fee of 126 million euros.
Griezmann would thus be six million euros more expensive than the fixed redemption of 120 million euros. The background seems to be that Barca wants to pay the sum in instalments and is therefore prepared to pay five percent more.
According to a Spanish sports report, this will give the club a larger budget for further transfers and could also have an impact on a possible transfer from Neymar to his old place of work.
According to information from L’Equipe, Griezmann will earn 17 million euros per season in Barcelona and sign a contract until 2024.
But it could take some days until the transfer is made official. Only on 1 July will the fixed transfer fee for Griezmann be reduced from 200 to 120 million euros.
