Barcelona conqueror Athletic Bilbao can hope for its 38th place in the final of the Spanish Football Cup. The Basques won Wednesday’s semi-final first leg on their own ground against LaLiga rivals FC Granada 1-0 (1-0).
The second leg will take place on 5 March in Granada. Former Spain international Iker Muniain (42nd) scored the goal of the day at San Mames.
Bilbao have already won the Spanish Cup 23 times, and only Barca, who was eliminated 1-0 by Athletic in the quarter-finals last week, has more successes (30). Bilbao’s last cup triumph dates back to 1984.
