Atletico Madrid are interested in FC Barcelona’s Nelson Semedo, according to information from Goal and SOCCERSCORE, but the Catalans are not prepared to hand the Portuguese over to their league rivals this summer.
Barca are considering a change after a disappointing defeat in the Champions League against Liverpool and a lost Copa final against Valencia. However, Semedo will not be sold, even though he has not yet been able to gain a permanent place on the right side of the defence since joining the club in 2017. In the past season he took turns in his position with Sergi Roberto.
Atletico Madrid has already undergone a major upheaval: Diego Godin, Juanfran and Lucas Hernandez, three defenders, will leave the club this summer, and left-back Filipe Luis will be able to leave the club free. Colchoneros coach Diego Simeone has therefore Semedo, who is still under contract with Barca until 2022, at the top of his wish list.
Semedo was in the starting eleven of 20 league games last season. In the Champions League, he played in ten of the twelve Barca games.
