Right-back Nelson Semedo wants to leave FC Barcelona after two years. As Goal and SOCCERSCORE can confirm, the Portuguese has asked those responsible for his release. Atletico Madrid shows strong interest after some defensive departures.
Semedo is dissatisfied with his role with the Catalans, as he is not a permanent member of staff. Nevertheless, the club initially declared him unsaleable.
An initial offer from the Rojiblancos is around 25 million euros, and the 25-year-old is also offered a more important role than Barca. So far, the Spanish master has not entered into negotiations, but Semedo’s personally expressed wish to change could bring movement to the matter.
The eight-time national player came from Benfica in 2017 for around 35 million euros. If one decides nevertheless for a sale, should be taken after information of Goal and SOCCERSCORE evenly this sum at least again. A settlement for a transfer from Antoine Griezmann to Camp Nou also seems possible. In this case, a transfer would not take place before 1 July, when the withdrawal clause of the French world champion would fall to 120 million euros.
