VAR misdecisions cause trouble in England

The Premier League has admitted three mistakes made by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) at the matches of the English Football Superior on Thursday evening. The Premier League announced that record champions Manchester United and Ralph Hasenhüttls FC Southampton should not have been penalties, but Tottenham Hotspur was wrongly denied a penalty.

Spurs team manager José Mourinho shivered after 0-0 at AFC Bournemouth that “everyone in the world” had seen that his team should have received a penalty, except VAR referee Michael Oliver. King pushed Kane in the back as he defended a flank – referee Paul Tierney didn’t give a penalty, Oliver didn’t intervene. Oliver, who is on Sunday’s North London derby at Tottenham against Arsenal, was also on VAR duty when Kane was denied a goal in last week’s 1-3 defeat of Spurs against Sheffield United.
