Ilkay Gündogan doubts a transfer of Leroy Sane from Manchester City to FC Bayern Munich. Especially since the citizens apparently want to keep the wingman.
“If players of his class don’t play one or the other time, it has become the norm that there are automatically rumours of changes,” Gündogan told SportBild.
The international added: “As our coach has already said, Leroy Club is determined to hold on.” In fact, Pep Guardiola had recently emphasized that he wanted Sane to extend the time.
Gündogan would trust Sane to have a good future in Munich as well as in Manchester: “I know Leroy very well and know exactly that he can and will assert himself everywhere”.
According to SportBild, his partner Sanes, Candice Brook, was anything but enthusiastic about saying goodbye to England. Bavaria’s sports director Hasan Salihamidzic was reticent about the magazine: “I don’t comment on names.”
Rumours of a possible change of 23-year-old have reignited earlier this week due to a kicker report. Previously, Italian media had reported on the interest of FC Bayern and Juventus.
Sane is still under contract with the Citizens until 2021, but was last not regularly used. Rather, he seemed to play a role in the team, especially in the final sprint of the season, if at all as a joker.
