Mohamed Salah apparently asked FC Liverpool for clearance after a dispute with coach Jürgen Klopp. Accordingly, he could leave the Reds at the end of the current season.
The AS reports that the dispute between Klopp and Salah has been smouldering for some time now. The Spanish daily refers to internal sources. What the dispute between player and coach is about is not clear from the report.
After an extension in July 2018, 26-year-old Salah is still under contract with Liverpool until 2023. A farewell is therefore unlikely to correspond to Liverpool’s plans, for which the Egyptian is an important contributor.
The name Real Madrid in particular is a possible customer. The royals are currently looking for reinforcements for the offensive, which suffered greatly from the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus.
However, until now a commitment from Eden Hazard of Chelsea FC has been the highest priority. To what extent a request for Salah’s release would change this remains to be seen. In the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Salah last scored the full 180 minutes and scored a goal in the second leg against FC Porto.
