European League winners FC Chelsea are looking for a successor to coach Maurizio Sarri. According to information from Goal and SOCCERSCORE, the club management of the Blues met with former national player Frank Lampard to negotiate a possible employment as Chelsea coach.
The 40-year-old currently still has a valid working document with the English second division club Derby County. During his time as a professional, the London-born was 640 times successful for Chelsea.
Besides Lampard, Ajax coach Erik ten Hag is also a candidate for the coaching position. However, the Dutchman is hesitant with regard to possible contract negotiations due to the imminent transfer ban, which will come into effect at Chelsea from next season.
Sarri, whose contract with Chelsea is actually valid until 2021, is likely to return to his native Italy. According to information from Goal and SOCCERSCORE, the former Napoli coach has already agreed with Juventus Turin on a commitment for the coming season.
