Team manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer of England’s record champion Manchester United has “no doubt” that world champion Paul Pogba will continue to play for the Old Trafford club in the future. The French midfield star has been courted by Spanish record champions Real Madrid for some time now.
On Saturday, Pogba was absent due to a back injury in a penalty shoot-out win against AC Milan in Cardiff, where he won a test match: “Paul will be back in training early this week,” said Norwegian Man United coach Solskjaer, “he’s just in pain, we didn’t want to risk anything, so he wasn’t there. He should be on it against Chelsea this weekend.”
Pogba himself had fuelled speculation about moving to Madrid in the summer with his statement (“It might be good to get a new challenge somewhere else”). In 2016 Pogba moved from Juventus Turin to Manchester for 105 million euros plus bonus payments.
