Pep Guardiola of English champions Manchester City has been named Coach of the Year by the League Managers Association (LMA) in the Premier League.
“It’s an honor to win this title,” the coach commented on the award. “I want to share the prize with my players and my staff because they are the protagonists of all this. We fought against all the other Premier League coaches and Jürgen Klopp in particular was an unbelievable challenger until the end,” he added.
Guardiola won against Liverpool’s Jürgen Klopp, Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino and Wolverhampton’s Nuno Espirito Santo. After Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho, the Spaniard is the third coach to have won the award twice in a row.
in the 2017/18 season, he won the prize after leading the Citizens to the Premier League title with a record 100 points. In the past season he scored 98 points.
