Mesut Özil and Sead Kolasinac from FC Arsenal are currently not safe in London. Both professionals were placed under personal protection. According to The Sun in England, it’s even a gang war.
Kolasinac and Özil almost fell victim to a robbery on 25 July. Kolasinac fled the attackers back then. The perpetrators are attributed to a gang – and now a rival gang is supposed to have joined in that doesn’t want to tolerate further attacks – the players are popular because Kolasinac in particular “has a lot of friends in North London”, according to a Sun source.
The attackers apparently do not want to be intimidated and announced that they would take all their owners from the professionals. Since then there have been two arrests in front of Villa Özils, as reported by SOCCERSCORE and Goal.
According to the Sun, there were also riots outside Kolasinac’s house. His wife Bella is said to have left for Germany in the meantime. Both professionals are currently under personal protection, as pictures in the English daily newspaper show.
FC Arsenal had decided not to nominate both players on the 1st matchday of the Premier League. Coach Unai Emery said after a 1-0 win over Newcastle United that he didn’t know when Özil and Kolasinac could join the team again.
