ManUnited is probably involved with Griezmann

Manchester United may well be hopeful of Antoine Griezmann’s commitment. The French world champion will definitely leave Atletico Madrid this summer, although the Red Devils are said to have renewed their interest according to the English Independent.

Griezmann can leave the Colchoneros for a €120 million exit clause; FC Barcelona have been the favourites for a commitment so far. But there are apparently doubts about Griezmann’s qualities and the associated transfer fee.

The Catalans have already signed Frenkie de Jong for 75 million euros from Ajax Amsterdam. His team colleague Matthijs de Ligt is to follow for a similarly high transfer fee, which would probably make Griezmann’s commitment too expensive overall.

Meanwhile, United was already interested in Griezmann’s commitment under Jose Mourinho in 2017, but the 28-year-old remained in Madrid after the transfer ban on Atletico. Last year he extended his contract and cancelled Barcelona.

Griezmann could inherit Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez in Manchester, who are likely to be sold. United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants Marcus Rashford to be joined by a striker.
