Frank Lampard has led Derby County to the playoff finals as coach for their promotion to the Premier League. Derby won the semi-final at Leeds United on Wednesday evening after a 0-1 first leg win in a turbulent game 4-2 (1-1).
Lampard will meet his former Chelsea colleague John Terry, co-coach at Aston Villa, in the Wembley final on 27 May.
Villa had eliminated on Tuesday in penalty shootout West Bromwich Albion. Directly Norwich City with the German coach Daniel Farke and Sheffield United had secured their promotion.
Leeds even took the lead on Elland Road, but then gradually gave up the game. Jack Marriot (45.), Mason Mount (46.) and Harry Wilson turned the game around in favour of the Rams.
Stuart Dallas regained the home side’s hopes for the final in Wembley with his second goal, but after being sent off by Gaetano Berardi (78th), Derby County were the only players left to play and Marriott made everything clear with his second goal.
