Premier League: Knee injury! Liverpool defender absent for six months

Nathaniel Clyne of Champions League winner FC Liverpool has suffered a knee injury during the US trip of the Reds and, according to the doctors’ diagnosis, has been out of action for months.

The legal defender of the English runner-up injured himself in the test against Borussia Dortmund (2:3) and now got the result of the investigations at home: six months forced break because of a cruciate ligament rupture.

“He’s been training and playing so well over the last few weeks, he’s been in excellent shape. Of course such an injury is not good news for a player, but the bottom line for the doctors is that it is a simple cruciate ligament injury. That means that the recovery should run off without larger complications ?, said Jrgen Klopp to the injury of its protege.

Clyne’s Liverpool contract expires in 2020. He joined the Reds in 2015 before losing his permanent position to Trent-Alexander Arnold.

In the second half of the season, he played on loan for the AFC Bournemouth, where the 28-year-old had 18 Premier League appearances.
