Despite the sovereign start to the season, team manager Jürgen Klopp from FC Liverpool still sees work for his team.
“It’s all good, but we should have had more control over the game,” Klopp said after the 4-1 (4-0) victory over the promoted team Norwich City: “There’s a lot of room for improvement, we know that. But many things were already there. The next game will be different and we must defend well.”
The Reds’ fans are hoping for their first championship title in 30 years. Liverpool last won the title in 1990. The reigning champion Manchester City will enter the West Ham United league on Saturday (13:30).
Klopp’s worry lines were caused by the injury of regular goalkeeper Alisson, who had to be replaced in the first half. Adrian, who was only signed on Monday, came into play for the Brazilian.
“I’m sure it’s not nice with Alisson, but we’ll find a solution,” Klopp said. Alisson felt something on his calf. A more precise diagnosis will be made in the coming days.
